Civita di Bagnoregio is a jewel set in volcanic tuff, encircled by steep calanchi and the soft contours of hills blanketed in olive groves and dense woodlands. Within the ancient village walls—reachable only on foot via a long pedestrian bridge – time stretches and slows, allowing visitors to savour the silence and breathe in the scents drifting through the narrow alleys.

Less than twenty kilometres west of Civita di Bagnoregio lies Bolsena, crowned by the Rocca Monaldeschi della Cervara, perched at the village’s heart and built from the 11th century onward. From its towers, the view stretches across the lake and its two inhabited islands – Martana and the larger Bisentina – both reachable in minutes by boat.
The lake reveals its beauty from many angles: along its shores in the villages of Marta and Capodimonte, or from the hills above, pausing in Montefiascone, Valentano, or San Lorenzo Nuovo.

From both Civita and Bolsena, countless fascinating destinations are within easy reach: Orvieto, Bomarzo, Viterbo, Caprarola—as well as the thermal baths of Viterbo’s Terme dei Papi, Saturnia, and San Casciano.
